The Jewish Mellah in Marrakech, founded in 1558, is a neighborhood within the city\u2019s medina. It was established as a residential area exclusively for the Jewish community. Although they enjoyed autonomy, the Jewish residents were not allowed to own property outside the Mellah. Today, there are only around 250 Jews living in Marrakech, a significant decline from the past. The Mellah\u2019s streets and alleys are worth exploring, featuring traditional buildings, shops, and an active synagogue.<\/p>\n
