DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert
4 Days fes to Marrakech desert tour will begin with an early Pick-up at 07 :30 am from your hotel/Riad in Fes by your private driver/guide. We highly recommend starting our journey the earliest the better as you need to be in the Sahara desert of Merzouga before the sun sets. Our first stop after driving through the nearby plain is in the charmin town of Ifrane. It is often called the Switzerland version city of Morocco because of its Alpian architecture.
We will have a nice drive through the cedar forest of the Middle Atlas that hosts a colony of Barbary Macaques. After having lunch near Midelt, we will continue on the track crossing the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains, then include a short break for taking pictures in the panoramic palm valley of Ziz before arriving in the majestic sand dunefield of Erg Chebbi.
Enjoy a delcious meal for dinner by the pool and spend the night in an authentic but comfortable Riad/hotel by the edge of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Day2: Explore the Desert Area & Camel Trek
Our 4 Days Fes to Marrakech desert tour will continue after an early wake up in the morning, we will invite you to climb the majestic sand dune to attend the miraculous view of the sunrise. Have a refreshing breakfast under the sunlight, take a shower, and then resume our journey by exploring the desert area.
Learn about the traditional system of irrigation known as “Khettaras”, visit the Khamlia village, which is resided by people with dark complexion who were brought as slaves from the Sub-Saharan Lands. They are known for the spiritual “Gnawa Music”, which they perform to guest-visitors.
Have a complete tour around the sand dunes and visit a nomad family that lives in a tent offering the opportunity to learn about their unique style of life. After lunch, you will go on a camel ride experience through the golden and soft sand dunes while enjoying the majestic view of the sunset.
Get to our luxury desert camp where the staff members will welcome you with mint tea and pastries as a Moroccan ritual. Have a nice romantic dinner, then a session of music performed using drums and castanets before spending your second night in your ensuite tent.
Day3: Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorge -Dades Valley
Wake up in the early morning and climb up the sand dune where you can enjoy the amazing view of the sunrise. After having breakfast under the sunlight and after taking a refreshing shower, we will resume our desert trip to the Dades Valley. Drive through Erfoud and stretch your legs in the impressive Todra Gorge (Canyons) before getting to the lush Dades Valley where we will spend our third night in a comfortable hotel/Riad.
Day4: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Dades Valley, we will head to Marrakech while exploring the most interesting highlights on the way. Stop by a local cooperative in the Rose Valley where you can learn about the different products that are made of roses including rose-water, perfumes, soaps, lotions and much more.
Cross the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) because of the filmmaking activity that takes place in the region. You may want to include a visit to the Atlas Film Studios, then have a guided walking tour of the dramatic Ait Benhaddou village before continuing on the track to Marrakech with a nice drive through the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains.
