Our 7 Days imperial cities tour from Casablanca will continue after having breakfast in your hotel in Casablanca, we will drive to the blue-city of Chefchaouen passing by Rabat. The city of Rabat is the administrative and official capital of Morocco being home for the king and the royal family. Visit the dramatic Kasbah of Oudaya, which panoramically overlooks the ever-flowing Bou Regreg River, Sale & the Atlantic Ocean.
Visit the striking Mohammed V mausoleum where the king’s father, uncle & grandfather are buried. The building is fascinating with its white marble from the outside and intricate artworks from the inside. Adjacent to the mausoleum is the impressive Hassan Tower, which was planned to be the largest mosque in the Islamic World back in the 12th century, but the Almohad Sultan died after three years of work leaving the project incomplete.
Later, we will head to Chefchaouen driving through the fertile agricultural plain of Gharb and Ouazzane. Once we in the blue-city, we will spend the rest of the day exploring and enjoying the magic of the blue-city of Chefchaouen. You may want to start your tour by the dramatic Kasbah, which is located in the heart of the Medina. This Kasbah (fortress) has a rich history that goes back to the 15th century when Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid decided to construct this fortress to fight against the Spanish and Portuguese Invaders.
Get lost in the beautifully-painted streets of Chefchaouen while enjoying the local culture passing by the public Hammam, Mosques & communal bakeries. Get to Ras el-Ma Spring that offers panoramic views, then include a soft hike uphill where you can get a complete view of the Medina.
Later, you will get back to the strategic Utta el Hammam Square, which is the cultural hub of the Medina with its lined cafes and restaurants. Enjoy a meal while watching the passers-by.
