DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY1: Arrive in Casablanca
Meet & greet upon arrival in Mohamed V International Airport of Casablanca, or in the train station, then spend the first half-day exploring the landmarks of this large city. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, which is the third largest mosque in the Islamic World with the capacity of holding more than 86000 worshipers. The minaret dominates the horizons of the city with its striking architecture that astonishes every visitor.
Drive by the paved Corniche of Ain Diab before getting to the famous Ricks Cafe where the Casablanca movie was shot. Later, we will get to your hotel where you will spend your first night.
Day2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
Our 7 Days imperial cities tour from Casablanca will continue after having breakfast in your hotel in Casablanca, we will drive to the blue-city of Chefchaouen passing by Rabat. The city of Rabat is the administrative and official capital of Morocco being home for the king and the royal family. Visit the dramatic Kasbah of Oudaya, which panoramically overlooks the ever-flowing Bou Regreg River, Sale & the Atlantic Ocean.
Visit the striking Mohammed V mausoleum where the king’s father, uncle & grandfather are buried. The building is fascinating with its white marble from the outside and intricate artworks from the inside. Adjacent to the mausoleum is the impressive Hassan Tower, which was planned to be the largest mosque in the Islamic World back in the 12th century, but the Almohad Sultan died after three years of work leaving the project incomplete.
Later, we will head to Chefchaouen driving through the fertile agricultural plain of Gharb and Ouazzane. Once we in the blue-city, we will spend the rest of the day exploring and enjoying the magic of the blue-city of Chefchaouen. You may want to start your tour by the dramatic Kasbah, which is located in the heart of the Medina. This Kasbah (fortress) has a rich history that goes back to the 15th century when Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid decided to construct this fortress to fight against the Spanish and Portuguese Invaders.
Get lost in the beautifully-painted streets of Chefchaouen while enjoying the local culture passing by the public Hammam, Mosques & communal bakeries. Get to Ras el-Ma Spring that offers panoramic views, then include a soft hike uphill where you can get a complete view of the Medina.
Later, you will get back to the strategic Utta el Hammam Square, which is the cultural hub of the Medina with its lined cafes and restaurants. Enjoy a meal while watching the passers-by.
Day3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Our 7 Days imperial cities tour from Casablanca will continue After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Chefchaouen, we will resume our journey by driving south to the charming city of Meknes crossing the spectacular Rif Mountains, and passing by the Roman Ruins of Volubilis. Have a guided tour around the Ruins while learning about the Roman civilisation that settled in the north of Africa.
Later, we will head to the mysterious city of Meknes where we will start our tour from the impressive Bab Mansour, meander around the local olive market, the vibrant el-Hedim Square, visit Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, drive through the walls of the royal palace to the granaries and stables. It is, in these stables, the Sultan Moulay Ismail used to look after and feed his 12000 horses.
In the evening, we will continue on the track through the highway to Fes where we will spend our third night at a Riad.
Day4: Full-Day Exploring Fes
Our 7 Days imperial cities tour from Casablanca will continue After having breakfast in your Riad/hotel, you’ll spend the day exploring what Fes has to offer with an expert English speaking tour guide. Fes or Fez is the oldest Imperial Capital of Morocco that was founded by Moulay Idriss I in the 8th century. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the largest urban car-free districts in the world.
Enjoy the panoramic view of the Fes el-Bali (oldest Fes) atop the hill, then drive to the Royal Palace with its beautiful bronze gates. You’ll stretch your legs in the Mella (former Jewish Quarter) with the possibility to make a visit to the synagogue. From there, you’ll get into the oldest Fes with its tiny alleyways that reveal countless secrets (don’t worry, your tour guide will unveil them for you).
You’ll visit the tanneries where the leather is made using traditional methods. Learn about the Medersas & Koranic schools including Bou Inania, Quarawyyine (the oldest formal university in the Islamic World)…the tour includes a visit to the museums and Funduks…In the late afternoon, your private tour guide will escort you back to your Riad/hotel.
Day5: Fes – Beni Mellal – Ouzoud Waterfalls
Today, you will have a free day to chill out, soak up the nature, and further enjoy the area. You may want to include a soft hike through the olive orchards down to the falls, then climb up using the stairs looking for resident Barbary Macaques. Enjoy a nice lunch in a local restaurant overlooking the falls.
Day6: Ouzoud Waterfalls – Explore Marrakech
Our 7 Days imperial cities tour from Casablanca will continue After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Ouzoud Waterfalls, we will head to Marrakech by driving through olive orchards. Upon arrival in Marrakech, we will have a guided tour of Marrakech starting with a nice drive through the Ville Nouvelle that was built by the French. Have a tour around the botanical gardens of Majorelle, the drive back to the Medina to start our walking tour by the Kotoubia Mosque that was built in the 12th century. Visit the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the vibrant Souks that are organized into sections before ending our guided tour of Marrakech in the Jemaa el-Fna Square.
Day7: Marrakech – Casablanca Airport
After having breakfat in your Riad/hotel in Marrakech, we will drive to the aiport of Marrakech or Casablanca where we will help you out with luggage marking the end of our journey and hoping you go back home with a memorable experience.
Have a complete tour around the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to make a visit to a local nomad family offering an opportunity to learn about their unique style of life. After lunch, you will have a camel ride experience while watching the breathtaking view of the sunset before getting to the luxury desert camp where you will have a delicious meal for dinner in a romantic setting.
