DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY1: Tangier - Chefchaouen
Pick up from your accommodation in Tangier, meet at the Tangier Ville or Tangier Med port before embarking on a journey of 6-days imperial cities tour from Tangier. Head to the blue-city of Chefchaouen with a nice drive through the spectacular Rif mountains. Once we arrive in Chefchaouen, you may want to spend the rest of the day discovering the charm of this gem of a town.
Visit the Kasbah which dates back to the 15th century, meander around the intricate streets of the Medina with the blue color dominating the horizons, meet the local culture on its own terms, stop by Ras el-Ma spring, which is a perfect cultural hub. Enjoy a drink or a meal in the Utta el-Hammam Square.
Day2: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Chefchaouen, we will head further south to Volubilis where we can learn about the Roman empire in the north of Africa. Later, drive to Fes, which is our first imperial city in the list dating back to the 17th century when the Sultan Moulay Ismail decided to turn into one of the most beautiful cities in the world to the extent that it is often described as “the Versailles of Morocco”.
Start our tour by the impressive Mansour Gate, then drive through the high walls of the Royal Palace leading us to the garanaries and stables. It’s in here the Sultan used to feed and look after his 12.000 horses and where grains are stored.
In the late afternoon, we will drive to Fes where we will spend our second night.
Day3: Full-Day Exploring Fes
Today, we will have a full-day guided tour of this UNESCO-listed as a World Heritage Site city. Drive uphill and enjoy the panoramic view while learning about the history of the city. Take pictures by the golden gates of the Royal Palace and stretch your legs in the former Jewish Quarter (Mellah) with its bustling market.
Now, it’s the time to dive in the heart of the Fes el-Bali (oldest Fes), which is the largest car-free district in the world. Your private guide will unveil the mysteries of the city to you while meandering around the intricate alleyways with its bustling cafes and vibrant Souks. Pass by the Al-Qarawyyin university, which is the oldest formal institution in the world. Visit the Chouara Tanneries where you can leather how the best quality of leather is being made using traditional technics.
Explore the vibrant Souks that are organized into sections before we escort you to your accommodation in the late afternoon.
Day4: Fes - Rabat - Marrakech
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Marrakech, we will head to Marrakech passing by Rabat, which is the administrative capital of Morocco and home of the King. Explore the dramatic Oudayas Kasbah that is built by estuary of the Bou Regreg River overlooking Sale and the Atlantic Ocean.
Visit Mohamed V Mausoleum and the Hassan Tower before continuing on the track to Marrakech through the highway. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening and escort to your accommodation.
Day5: Full-Day Exploring Marrakech
Today, we will devote the day exploring the best of Marrakech with a local tour guide. Drive through the Ville Nouvelle that was built by the French when Morocco was a French Protectore from 1912 to 1956. Visit the botanical gardens of Majorelle, then drive back to the Medina where we will learn about the history behind the foundation of La Koutoubia Mosque.
Visit the Saadian Tombs that are known for their unique geometric designs, then the 19th Bahia Palace, which was built by the Sultan’s Vizier for his wives and concubines. Explore the bustling Souks of Marrakech that are organized into sections before ending our tour in the Jemaa el-Fna Square.
Day6: Airport Transfer
Depending on your flight schedule and whether it’s going to be from Marrakech or Casablanca airport. We will get you to the airport in-style assisting you with your luggage. End of our service.
