Then, you’ll go to Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco, and visit the cedar forest where Barbary macaque monkeys live. You’ll explore Fes and Meknes, two important cities in Morocco. You’ll also check out the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the blue city of Chefchaouen. Finally, your tour will finish in Tangier.
After breakfast, we will continue our 8 days Morocco tour itinerary from Marrakech where we’ll explore Ouarzazate, visiting the famous Atlas Studios where they made movies and the ancient Taourirt Kasbah, a cool mud castle. Then we’ll drive east to see the Amridil Kasbah, surrounded by palm trees in Skoura, and head to Kalaa Magouna, known for the Rose Valley where they have a Rose Festival in May, selling rose stuff like perfume and rose water. Next, we’ll drive to Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, stopping to see the “monkey fingers” rock shapes and enjoy the view from a mountain. We’ll end the day with dinner and a night in a Boumalne Dades hotel.
After an early morning wake-up, don’t miss the chance to see a beautiful desert sunrise. Take some time for breakfast, and then hop on camels for a ride back to Merzouga, where your driver is waiting. Our adventure begins in Merzouga, where we’ll go off-road to an old eyeliner mine. We’ll also visit the nomads who live in traditional tents, learn about their way of life, and share some Berber tea. Next stop is Khamlia village, where you can groove to Gnaoua music and watch some lively dances. The folks here come from countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. You’ll have free time for lunch at a restaurant. Later, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through a palm tree grove and drive a bit to see the wild Merzouga lake, also known as the flamingos lake. We’ll wrap up the day with dinner and a comfy hotel stay.
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to the desert and head to Rissani town, which used to be the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani is still a big trading hub in the area, especially bustling on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays when they have a lively souk (market). After a stroll through the Rissani souk, we’ll move on to Erfoud, where we’ll visit one of the workshops that make cool stuff from fossilized marble.
Next, we’ll follow the Ziz river and make a stop for a great view of the Ziz valley. You’ll have some free time for lunch in Midelt. After that, we’ll head to the cedars forest, home to Barbary Macaque monkeys. You can even feed them while you wander around in the forest. Our journey continues to Ifrane, a place known for its chilly weather, snow, and houses that look like they belong in the Swiss Alps – no wonder they call it the Switzerland of Morocco. Finally, we’ll drop you off at your place in Fes.
